The following schedule is offered as an example. Flexibility is encouraged to allow children’s interest to determine each day’s specific schedule.
9 am Arrival
Free Exploration Time: structured to allow both individual and quiet opportunities as well as partner and group play. Also there will be opportunities in the kitchen to help prepare snack or tea and set the tables.
9:45am Snack Time: A seasonal tea and organic breakfast snack is available
10:15 Quiet Library Time: A chance for children to read books quietly before we all gather for circle time.
10:30am Circle Time: teacher led storytelling and curriculum discussion; student lead responses to current interests. A time for children to learn new songs.
11am Group Time: Project Time where children collaborate in small groups. During this time we will also enjoy some outside exploration and discovery. Project time is both for free-form expression of creativity as well as teacher-guided activities that explore current areas of study. On Thursday's every other week we will have yoga at 11:15 to 11:45 with Ivett from Honey Heart Kids Yoga.
12:15: Lunch Time: A seasonal organic meal prepared with student help and food from the garden whenever possible.
12:45 Quiet Alone Time: A chance for students to relax and work quietly with on-going individual projects or with science, math, art and writing materials. Children explore materials independently or with 1 or 2 other friends surrounding topics that were of interest to the children during that day. On every other Tuesday at 1:15 to 1:45 there will be yoga with Ivett.
1:15 to 1:45 Outside Exploration: Earth Science exploration and discovery of the natural world. Time to play in the backyard and at Mt Tabor park.
